How to pay your deposit?

So, this is it! You are ready to book and want to know how to make your downpayment?
They are a few options offered to you.

Transferring your deposit

Banks are a pain, whichever country you are in, so we have tried to give you extra options to make this important step a little easier:


  1. Transfer to our local Taiwanese account (only valid if you are already in Taiwan, or if you have a Taiwanese account that you can access online). Please note we do not accept international transfers to this account due to the complex capital controls that apply in Taiwan.

If your bank gives you a hard time and/or charge you high fees, you may want to consider opening an account with an online bank before coming to Taiwan. It will not only save you money on this deposit transfer, but also make your life a lot easier in Taiwan. Taiwan has fairly strict capital controls that make using foreign cards and transferring from abroad pretty difficult.

We opened accounts with Revolut, N26, and Wise. In our experience Wise was the best and this is the service we now use to offer you all of these different payment options. About 25 to 30% of our tenants use online banks, and it makes the process a lot smoother for them and for us. Should you decide to go ahead and open one, use our referral code to get your card for free (normally 7 euros).

 

Once you are done, remember to fill the payment confirmation form!


How to pay your monthly rent?

Please note that your rent is due on the last day of the month, for the next month. For example, January's rent is due on December 25th. Delays we'll be penalised as specified in the contract.

Please refer to the contract to make sure you understand the rent payment policy and act accordingly. 

01 By transfer to our local account

You can do this from any ATM of your own bank. Follow the English instructions that will appear on screen. It's very straightforward.

02 By walk-in deposit at our bank

This is the easiest method if you do not have a bank account in Taiwan. You can do this from any Chang Hwa Bank branch in Taiwan. Bring an ID just in case. Be aware that most banks in Taiwan close at 15:30.

  1. Walk in and look for the person in charge of the reception (usually they wear a guard uniform). 
  2. Show him this. He will help you grab a deposit slip and a number.
  3. Fill the information in English on the deposit slip.
  4. Make sure that your name and room code are entered clearly.
  5. Prepare the right amount of money, and wait for your number to be called at the counter. 
  6. Show the counter attendant the text we prepared for you . 
  7. The attendant will help you fill the rest of the deposit slip and take your money.
  8. Fill in the payment confirmation form!

 


03 By transfer to our foreign accounts

  1. It is VERY important that you screenshot the amount due in NTD with the currency conversion from www.xe.com/ucc every single time you do a payment on these accounts, and send us the screenshot via the payment confirmation form

I've completed my down-payment/rental payment, what do I do now?

Congrats! You did it like a boss. 
Now, there's one last step: you need to fill the "Payment Confirmation Form" below to make sure we see your payment coming in. Don't skip this step... If you do we will consider your payment to be late/undone and we will have to apply the contract's penalties...and we really don't want to be that kind of gremlin landlords.
